Job summary

Coupa is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to drive architectural evolution of CSP (Coupa Supplier Platform) at scale. You will lead multi-cloud, high-availability capabilities and guide a nimble team that ships robust features.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and collaborates across product, design, and business teams to scale supplier workflows. You will work with Rails, Golang, Java, and introduce the right technologies to meet growing demand, reliability, and security across

Qualifications

15+ years building B2B SaaS at scale, with leadership and architectural responsibilities.
Experience evolving legacy systems into microservices in production with uptime requirements.
Deep knowledge of API-driven services, multi-tenant architectures, and large-scale integration patterns.
Solid deployment experience: CI/CD, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and major cloud providers.

Responsibilities

Lead the architectural evolution for CSP, defining changes and sequencing.
Set patterns for API design, microservice boundaries, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and reliability.
Mentor engineers, review architecture and code, build a high-caliber team.
Participate in the Architectural Steering Group, sharing learnings across Coupa.
Collaborate with SRE on cloud-native infrastructure, including CI/CD and multi-cloud capabilities.
Own security, multi-tenancy isolation, data governance and compliance across regions.
Work with product, design, and business teams to scale supplier workflows.
