Job summary

Coupa seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead architectural evolution for CSP, serving millions of supplier companies across multi-cloud deployments. You will define changes, drive reliability, and work with cross-functional teams to scale supplier workflows.

You will mentor engineers, shape API patterns, and collaborate with SRE on CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure-as-code while owning security and data governance across regions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years building B2B SaaS at scale.
• Experience evolving legacy systems into microservices in production.
• Deep knowledge of API-driven services and multi-tenant patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud deployments, and multi-cloud environments.
• Comfort across Rails, Golang, Java stacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural evolution as traffic grows and features expand.
• Set patterns for API design, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and review architecture and code.
• Join Architectural Steering Group and share learnings across Coupa.
• Partner with SRE on cloud-native infrastructure (CI/CD, containers, IaC).
• Own security, multi-tenancy isolation, data governance, and compliance across regions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to scale supplier workflows.
