Job summary

Oracle in Salt Lake City seeks a Sr. Principal Software Development Engineer to shape OCI Key Management Service (KMS) architecture and drive secure key lifecycle management at scale.

You will lead cross-functional teams, define designs with hardware security module integration, and mentor engineers to deliver high-impact secure distributed systems. Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering with distributed systems or security services at scale.
• Deep knowledge of cryptographic systems, secure software development, and HSMs, key lifecycle management, and encryption technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction in building secure, high-performance components and services.
• Lead the design and development of new features for KMS, including encryption-at-rest and HSM integration.
• Define specifications and architectural designs for new projects aligned with security vision and cloud-scale standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions with OCI integrations.
• Drive end-to-end project execution from requirements to production rollout.
• Champion engineering best practices and continuous improvement within the team.
