Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Core Platform is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the architecture, evolution, and delivery of OCI’s Key Management Service (KMS).

The role focuses on security, scalability, availability, and compliance in a large-scale production environment. You will direct technical initiatives across KMS layers, from cryptographic hardware integration to distributed systems, ensuring seamless integration with Database, Storage Services, SaaS, and other

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including large-scale distributed systems or security services.
• Deep knowledge of cryptographic systems, secure software development, and HSMs, key lifecycle management, encryption technologies.
• Proven track record of technical leadership including mentoring, architecture ownership, and delivering high-impact software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals, microservices, data structures, algorithms, OS, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, NoSQL, storage, and distributed persistence.
• Strong communication skills and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for secure, high-performance components meeting enterprise and compliance requirements.
• Lead design and development of KMS features and enhancements with HSM integration and encryption-at-rest support.
• Define specifications and architectures aligned with OCI security vision and cloud-scale standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Drive end-to-end project execution from requirements and prototyping to production rollout.
• Champion engineering best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.
• Facilitate real-world operational readiness and secure deployment at scale.
