Job summary

Astera Labs seeks a Sr. Principal Silicon Applications Engineer for AI infrastructure in San Jose, CA. You will bridge customers and engineering, supporting custom silicon programs from early architecture discussions through production deployment.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to translate customer needs into actionable requirements, lead complex debug efforts, and influence future silicon development while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, CS or related field.
• 10+ years in Product Applications or System Engineering or similar customer-facing semiconductor roles.
• Experience supporting advanced semiconductor or custom silicon from architecture through production.
• Strong Linux debugging and scripting in Python or C/C++.
• Proven ability to engage hyperscalers and OEM customers across product lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface for strategic customer programs.
• Lead customer engagements from architecture through silicon bring-up, validation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with PM, Architecture, ASIC Design, Firmware, Validation, and Software Eng to translate requirements.
• Develop technical collateral, reference designs, and training materials.
• Drive issues to resolution across cross-functional teams and support executive technical engagements.
