Job summary

Salesforce’s Database Security team seeks a senior security software engineer to own design and implementation for large-scale production database systems, focusing on threat detection, access control, and tenant isolation.

You will build analysis pipelines, apply ML for anomaly detection, and embed security guardrails across AI agents and production databases, partnering with DB engineers from design to rollout.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in security software or secure systems.
• Deep understanding of multi-tenant isolation, access control and data governance.
• Experience leading threat modeling and architecture risk analysis for distributed database cloud environments.
• Expert-level design of consistent security policies across AWS and GCP.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Rust or Go.
• Track record shipping production software at scale.
• Excellent communication; able to lead security discussions across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and hands-on implementation of security software for large-scale production database systems.
• Design security detection and enforcement software for production database systems.
• Build static and dynamic analysis pipelines for database vulnerability classes.
• Apply ML to anomaly detection: exfiltration, insider threat, unusual access.
• Build security guardrails for AI agents and LLMs on production databases.
• Ship automation for real-time detection and response to fast attacks.
• Partner with database engineering to embed security from design through rollout.
