Job summary

MetLife’s Global Security team seeks a Senior Principal Security Architect to lead enterprise security architecture, drive SAR reviews and mentor architects across the US and MGCC. You will shape target architectures, develop reusable patterns, and advance security transformation with risk-based guidance.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, communicate risk to leadership, and contribute to enterprise security strategy in a hybrid in-office role in New York, NY.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of technology experience with 7+ years in security architecture or security engineering at enterprise scale.
• Proven track record mentoring or technically leading architects or engineers and acting as final technical authority.
• Expertise in threat modeling, risk assessment, attack path analysis, trust-boundary assessment and remediation planning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary escalation point for security architecture matters and resolve contested findings.
• Own SAR outcomes: define standards, risk-rating criteria and templates; sign-off on high-risk assessments.
• Mentor security architects across the US and MGCC through reviews, threat-modeling sessions and feedback.
• Build team depth: lead knowledge-sharing, curate security patterns, onboard new architects and act as technical delegate.
• Represent Security Architecture at ARB and governance forums; collaborate with enterprise and risk stakeholders.
