Job summary

MSD in Rahway, NJ seeks a Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Analytical Sciences to lead analytical development across small molecules, peptides, mRNA, oligonucleotides and bioconjugates, advancing method development, validation, and regulatory submissions.

You will mentor junior scientists, partner with cross-functional teams, design studies, and drive risk management while delivering data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• PhD/Master/Bachelor with significant pharma industry experience, as stated in Education section.
• Proven ability to lead analytical development and validation in drug product and process development.
• Experience with regulatory filings (IND/NDA) and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical teams driving development from early-stage to commercialization.
• Partner with cross-functional areas to design studies for product/process development.
• Define end-to-end analytical control strategies for clinical supplies under GMP.
• Author IND/IMPD/NDA/WMA submissions and respond to agency questions.
• Mentor junior scientists and present to governance committees.
• Develop and implement advanced analytical technologies for product characterization.
