Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Quality (2nd Shift) to develop, maintain, and improve quality control systems for complex aerospace products.

The role requires experience in PFMEA, statistical analysis, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to meet stringent standards. Second shift availability and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 8+ years in Quality/Manufacturing/Process/Engineering.
• MS in STEM with 6+ years in Quality/Manufacturing/Process/Engineering.
• Experience with Data Analytics and Statistical Analysis methods.
• Experience with IPC, J-Std, MIL-STD.
• Experience with PFMEA or risk analysis methodologies.
• Facilitating RCCAs with technical groups.
• Must be available for 2nd shift.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing to uphold quality standards.
• Design, analyze, and implement inspection and testing processes.
• Audit quality systems, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance.
• Review contracts, drawings, and standards (ISO 9000, AS9102, MIL, IPC).
• Interface with production floor and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify and remove barriers to quality improvement via root-cause analysis.
• Create and validate control plans and work instructions.
• Manage nonconformances and lead cross-functional containment.
