Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Sr. Principal Propulsion Engineer to join the PS&C team in Florida, with alternate locations in Elkton MD and Ronkonkoma NY. The role focuses on propulsion systems design, analysis, and integration for ramjets, scramjets and related components. Occasional travel will be required.

Candidates should have extensive STEM design experience (PhD or MS preferred) and be able to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with multiple technical teams across programs.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelors in STEM with extensive design experience or higher degrees with progressively responsible design work.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction with input from subject matter experts.
• Lead design of propulsion components, structures, and sub-assemblies.
• Establish material and functional requirements and plan engineering tasks.
• Document design results and release outcomes after reviews.
• Lead milestones such as design reviews and test readiness reviews.
