Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Promontory, UT, invites applications for a Sr. Principal Propulsion Engineer – Level 4 to join the Conceptual Design and Flight Performance team.

You will define propulsion concepts, analyze system-level performance, and contribute to missions of critical importance. The role requires strong experience in solid rocket motor design, trajectory analysis, and effective communication with engineers and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience or equivalent advanced degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Solid rocket motor design and performance experience.
• Trajectory simulation and launch vehicle analysis proficiency.
• Proficiency in Python, Matlab, or C++.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual rocket motor design and flight performance analyses.
• Develop propulsion concepts for marketing and proposals.
• Present technical solutions to engineers, customers and leadership.
• Design and optimize propulsion elements and vehicles.
• Perform trajectory analyses of launch vehicles and missiles.
• Travel around 10%.
• Other duties as assigned.
