Job summary

The Stellarus Application Engineering team builds and operates the platform for payer operations, member experiences, customer integrations, pharma workflows, internal products, and marketplace capabilities. The Senior Principal is the technical authority for application architecture across the platform, setting enterprise-level direction and aligning with production tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS diploma with 4 years relevant experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering or architecture related experience.
• Experience setting architecture direction for enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Expert knowledge of microservices, API ecosystems, event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.
• Hands-on engineering background; able to discuss code structure, service design, and deployment.
• Experience designing and operating microservices in cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP transferable).
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, APIs, React platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience with domain-driven design, service decomposition, and integration architecture.
• Mentoring staff and principal engineers; healthcare/pharma/regulatory domain experience preferred.
• Excellent written communication.

Responsibilities

• Shape how Stellarus designs reusable services and integrates vendors.
• Define enterprise-scale architecture direction for the platform.
• Guide AI-assisted development patterns and production tradeoffs.
• Own call on what to build, where to integrate, and how marketplace capabilities form.
• Mentor engineers and architects; influence execution with reusable patterns.
