Job summary

Stellarus is seeking a Senior Principal Architect to define architecture direction for a cloud-native platform supporting payer, provider, pharma, and partner workflows. The role emphasizes reusable services, vendor integrations, and AI-assisted development while remaining hands-on with code and system design.

You will lead complex technical decisions across engineering, product, security, and operations, mentoring staff and aligning enterprise standards with practical delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering, application architecture, platform engineering, or related technical experience.
• Extensive experience setting application architecture direction for enterprise-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms.
• Expert knowledge of microservices, API ecosystems, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and platform services.
• Strong hands-on engineering background with code, system design, and production tradeoffs.
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP transferable).
• Strong API/data architecture judgment including REST, OpenAPI, and data stores.
• Excellent written communication and ability to influence across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-grade architecture direction across the platform for payer, provider, pharma, and partner workflows.
• Shape reusable services, vendor integrations, and marketplace capabilities.
• Lead technical decision-making across engineering, product, security, and operations.
• Mentor staff and principal-level engineers and architects.
• Work with teams to design scalable, testable, and secure production systems.
