Job summary

Cruitin, LLC. in San Diego, CA seeks a Principal Planner to lead major planning efforts for public and private clients, engaging with communities and decision-makers while growing the practice and mentoring planning staff.

You will oversee General Plans, Specific Plans, zoning ordinances, and CEQA/NEPA processes, plus drive business development and proposals. A Master's in Planning with 10–12 years of experience is required, with strong CA planning law knowledge and ArcGIS/Adobe Suite preferred.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Planning or a related field.
10–12 years of experience.
5+ years of California planning and development experience.
AICP certification strongly preferred.
Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS strongly preferred.
Experience in both private and public land development preferred.
A good driving record.
Demonstrated long-term tenure with prior employers preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead General Plans, Specific Plans, Community and Corridor Master Plans, development applications and zoning ordinances.
Manage CEQA/NEPA processes.
Lead public engagement and present at public meetings.
Drive business development and prepare proposals.
Mentor and develop planning staff.
