Job summary

RICK Engineering Company in San Diego, CA seeks a full-time Planning professional with a Masters in Planning and 10–12 years’ experience. The role emphasizes leading planning documents, public engagement, and business development, with strong knowledge of California planning and zoning laws.

AICP certification is strongly preferred; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS is desirable. The position requires clear communication, mentorship of staff, and the ability to manage projects

Qualifications

Masters in Planning or related field with 10–12 years’ experience.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of California planning and zoning laws.
Experience leading planning documents and public engagement programs.
Proven ability in business development, client relationships, and staff mentorship.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation and processing of General Plans, Specific Plans, and related documents.
Coordinate public engagement programs and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
Mentor staff, manage projects, and contribute to proposals and business development.
