Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector seeks a Principal Network Engineer to serve as a senior engineer and Tier 3 technical lead on a large government contract. You will guide the network architecture, design, and operations to ensure secure, resilient IT services.

Requirements include 12+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and CCIE or equivalent certification; DoD 8570.01-M baseline certifications (e.g., Security+) are expected. TS/SCI with polygraph is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
• An IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP) is required.
• CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) or equivalent certification or higher is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and enhance existing networking infrastructure. Architect, document, test, and implement robust network services and devices.
• Develop, maintain, and elevate SOPs for consistency and operational excellence.
• Lead proactive capacity planning and modeling for scalability and future readiness.
• Conduct research and recommend innovative, cost-effective network solutions and emerging technologies.
• Design and execute robust contingency plans for network reliability and outages.
• Provide expert consulting and mentorship to technical teams and senior managers.
• Drive network upgrade projects through full lifecycle: design, test, deployment, optimization.
