Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a highly skilled network engineer to support the CIDO Classified Solutions team. You will design, operate, and manage RMF-compliant networks in lab and field environments while applying Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices to national defense products.

This role requires Security+ or higher, US citizenship, and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. On-site work is in San Diego, Redondo Beach, or Palmdale, CA, with experience in IPv4/IPv6,

Qualifications

Current US Government Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret
Security+ certification or greater
Experience with network design, architecture, equipment selection
IPv4/IPv6 design including IP subnetting, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/FirePower/PAN-OS configuration and troubleshooting
On-site, full-time in San Diego, Redondo Beach, or Palmdale, CA
US Citizenship for government clearance positions
Preferred: CCNP Service Provider or CCIE
HAIPE/TACLANE and military crypto equipment experience
Windows, Linux, and VMware familiarity
Experience with Splunk, Cisco ISE, Cisco SDWAN, Palo Alto Panorama, SolarWinds, Netbox, NSXT, Ansible
Exposure to RMF, STIGs and COMSEC procedures

Responsibilities

Support information system lifecycle activities for the CIDO Classified Solutions team.
Use Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices to deliver national defense products and capabilities.
Design, operate, and manage RMF-compliant classified and unclassified networks in lab and field environments.
Deploy, use, and maintain network management tools.
Monitor uptime and latency; implement enhancements to improve performance, utilization, and reliability, including scripting.
Troubleshoot issues with users, sector partners, and vendors; develop corrective actions.
Support requirements and planning for network hardware/software purchases, upgrades, licenses, warranties, technical support, and refreshes.
Document designs with schematics, diagrams, specifications, work instructions, and security documentation
Plan and report project status for recurring and non-recurring efforts
Work independently under minimal direction

Maintain network and network management equipment during network expansion
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on network integration solutions and data-flow scenarios
Plan and install security patches according to program security requirements
Monitor uptime and latency; implement enhancements to improve performance, utilization, and reliability, including scripting
Troubleshoot issues with users, sector partners, and vendors; develop corrective actions

Requirements

Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience
Must have a current US Government Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment
Must have a Security+ certification or greater
Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection
Understanding and implementation of IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
Understanding and implementation of network device configuration and troubleshooting, ideally Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/Fire Power/PANOS
Ability to work on-site, full-time in San Diego, Redondo Beach, or Palmdale, California
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed
U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance positions
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering
Preferred: Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
Preferred: CCNP Service Provider/CCIE or equivalent
Familiarity with Splunk, Cisco ISE, Cisco SDWAN, Palo Alto Panorama, SolarWinds, Netbox, NSXT, SDWAN, SDA, and Ansible
Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, security controls, and STIGs
Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and VMware configuration and troubleshooting
Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures
Experience with complex multi-mesh hybrid HAIPE topologies and GemOne
Experience with Cisco Unified Communications/VoIP and VTC

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in network design, implementation, and management, with a strong focus on RMF compliance and security protocols. Proficient in utilizing Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies to enhance national defense capabilities.
