Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks a Senior Principal Mechanical Drafting Designer to support ruggedized electronic equipment design and documentation. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to produce CAD models, drawings, and library parts, ensuring quality and compliance with ASME Y14.5 and Mil-specs.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and extensive experience in NX/Creo/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of mechanical design and drafting experience or MS with 6 years.
• Extensive CAD modeling and drafting across multiple programs.
• Deep knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and related Mil-specs for GD&T.
• Experience designing for rugged, high-reliability applications.
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and document ruggedized electronic equipment for military apps.
• CAD design, drawing creation, documentation updates, library parts.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers.
