Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Advanced Interconnects and Multilayer Solutions (AIMS) manufacturing cell in Maryland. The role provides manufacturing technical leadership to fabricate printed wiring boards, manifolds, and backplanes for next-generation RF hardware.

Responsibilities include process development, factory support, and design for producibility with emphasis on affordability and production readiness; requires DOE, SPC, GD&T

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related STEM with required experience.
• DOE, SPC, and 6-sigma concepts for process development and control.
• GD&T proficiency and MS Office skills.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for PWB imaging, chemical processing, and plating with a focus on affordability.
• Manage project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activities.
• Provide ROI justifications for process improvements.
• Specify and procure equipment for production readiness and set up equipment.
• Develop/optimize process parameters and create/update process documentation.
• Monitor yields, costs, and process stability; implement quality improvements.
• Create/validate automatic equipment programs; troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Assist training of new personnel and support operator training materials.
• Recommend product design improvements for advanced microelectronics and document capabilities for designers.
• Participate in design for producibility reviews and provide design guidelines.
