Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Human Factors Engineer for an on-site role in Tewksbury, MA. You will lead enterprise HF programs, act as the technical HF authority, and drive strategy across product teams while guiding interfaces with government and contractors.

You will mentor HF engineers, oversee HF artifacts, and brief leadership on risks and recommendations. Strong DoD HF experience and DoD clearance readiness are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with DoD Human Factors Programs (e.g., MIL-STD-1472) across the system lifecycle.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and oversight of enterprise HF programs across programs.
• Serve as technical HF authority ensuring rigor and alignment with customer expectations.
• Drive HF strategy across integrated product teams early in lifecycle.
• Provide guidance on HF methods, standards, and trade-offs to leadership and customers.
• Maintain relationships with government and contractor stakeholders as HF interface.
• Influence system architecture decisions embedding HF considerations.
• Lead HF planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses across programs.
• Provide oversight and approvals of HF artifacts (plans, analyses, reports).
• Brief senior leadership and review boards on HF risks and recommendations.
• Mentor junior and mid-level HF engineers; lead Working Groups.
• Support proposals, BOEs, and capture activities for HF scope.
