Job summary

The University of Idaho Foundation in Moscow/Boise seeks an Associate Vice President of Principal Giving to build a strategic principal gifts program and secure transformational investments aligned with university priorities.

This role manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, conducts face-to-face visits, develops proposals, collaborates with campus leaders, and helps advance philanthropy with data-driven strategies and cross‑unit partnerships. Travel and nonstandard hours are required.

Qualifications

• Eight years in fundraising or related work.
• Five years as a supervisor OR five years recruiting, organizing and managing volunteers.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to work nonstandard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and manage assigned prospects.
• Collaborate with university leadership, development officers, academic departments and other stakeholders on fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
• Develop and present principal gift level fundraising proposals or higher.
• Develop and implement annual plans to raise money to resource the priorities of the university.
• Build the overall principal giving program, including communications, stewardship, annual giving, planned giving, timelines and accountabilities.
• Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to track and analyze giving metrics, donor trends and fundraising progress.
• Supervision of employees.
• Other duties as assigned.
