BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Principal FPGA Design Engineer.

Position Overview

The Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group seeks a Senior Principal FPGA Design Engineer to support FPGA designs through all development phases. Responsibilities include requirements generation, design architecture, RTL coding, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, test bench development, lab testing, debugging, and product support.

Note: Due to a government contract, U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required. The role is onsite full-time due to collaboration needs.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (less with advanced degree)
  • Current or eligible for Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in FPGA or ASIC design/development
  • Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog HDL
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
  • Digital simulation experience (Modelsim/Questa)
  • Experience with static timing analysis and clock domain crossing
  • Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (SERDES, PCIe, DDR2/3/4, LVDS)
  • Familiarity with revision control systems
  • Script generation experience (Perl, Tcl, Python, Shell)
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player, willing to mentor and learn
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to translate high-level requirements into micro-architecture
  • Experience modifying legacy FPGA designs
  • Leadership experience in design teams
  • Hands-on hardware design and debug experience
  • Experience with FPGA verification teams
  • Knowledge of data conversion techniques (ADC/DAC)
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $126,610 - $215,270. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, parental/military leave, and recognition programs.
