Position Overview

The Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group seeks a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to support FPGA designs throughout all development phases. Responsibilities include requirements generation, design architecture, RTL coding, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, basic test bench development, lab testing, debugging, and product support.

Please note: Due to a government contract, this position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. The role is onsite full-time due to collaboration and security requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (less with an advanced degree)
• Current Security Clearance (Secret) or eligibility to obtain one
• Significant experience in FPGA (preferred) or ASIC design/development
• VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding
• Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
• Digital simulation experience with Modelsim/Questa
• Experience with static timing analysis and clock domain crossing techniques
• Experience with high-speed interfaces like SERDES, PCIe, DDR2/3/4, LVDS
• Familiarity with revision control systems (GIT, CVS, etc.)
• Script generation experience (Perl, Tcl, Python, shell)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-starter and team player
• Willingness to mentor and be mentored

Preferred Skills

• Ability to translate higher-level requirements into micro-architecture
• Experience modifying legacy FPGA designs
• Leadership experience in design teams
• Hands-on hardware design and debug experience
• Experience working with FPGA verification teams
• Data conversion techniques (ADC/DAC) experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $112,420 - $191,070. Salaries are determined by various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
