Job summary

Collins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (P5) for our Avionics FPGA/ASIC team in a remote US-based role. You will architecture, design, verify and integrate high-performance digital systems with FPGAs and ASICs, employing best-practice project management across multiple avionics products.

You will lead design teams, ensure certification up to DO-254 DAL A/B, and collaborate with customers, program management and suppliers.

Qualifications

• University Degree plus 10+ years of experience or Advanced Degree plus 7+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship required to access program/contract information.
• Experience leading video and digital processing in FPGA/ASIC or software products.
• Experience leading technical projects with customer interaction and leadership briefings.
• Experience with DO-254 or DO-178 design assurance activities (DAL B or higher).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development projects for video/image processing devices.
• Develop project strategies to advance hardware disciplines and products.
• Ensure alignment with program, product line and DO-254/DO-178 certification requirements.
• Communicate with engineers, program management, leadership, supply chain, operations and customers.
• Lead delivery of next‑generation product line processing platform (boot, application, RTOS).
• Travel up to 10%.
