Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA, is seeking a Senior Principal Engineering Program Manager to lead execution of airborne navigation systems. You will partner with program leadership to deliver on cost, schedule, and technical commitments on a full lifecycle from capture to delivery.

The role requires a Senior Principal EPM with 8+ years in engineering leadership, systems integration, and experience with safety‑critical or mission‑critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 8+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 6+ years; or PhD with 4+ years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex development programs.
• Experience in systems development, integration, and test across the program lifecycle.
• Experience with hardware, software, and firmware.
• Experience with earned value management (EVM) and management of cost accounts and schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution across full program lifecycle for airborne navigation systems.
• Ensure rigor and compliance with MIL-STD-810, DO-178, MIL-STD-882, and DO-229 standards.
• Interface with Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and functional organizations.
• Develop and defend engineering estimates, budgets, and IMS maintenance.
• Drive data-informed decisions using program metrics and P&L reviews.
• Plan staffing and resource loading with functional managers to secure personnel.
