Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal/Senior Principal Engineer - Survivability to join our team as a Field Service Engineer with up to 50% travel to domestic and international locations. This role can be located in Palmdale, San Diego, El Segundo California or Melbourne Florida.

The candidate will coordinate with designers and supportability engineers, develop survivable designs, and lead RCS/RF testing and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years experience; or master with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
• LV4 requires 8 years with bachelor; or 6 years with master; or 4 years with PhD.
• Strong understanding of survivability principles (RF/IR/Vis, etc.).
• Active Top Secret clearance (or ability to obtain SAP clearance).
• Experience in survivability sub-disciplines across RF/IR/Vis/Acoustic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with designers and supportability engineers to ensure compliance with Survivability requirements.
• Develop and integrate technology to reduce system detectability.
• Design, plan, and execute RCS/RF tests (Tier 0–3) and deliver pre/post test reports.
• Analyze component and system test results and deliver recommendations on materials and capabilities.
• Coordinate with suppliers on material, technology, and equipment design, delivery, and test.
