Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Engineer - Survivability for field service across Palmdale, San Diego, El Segundo, or Melbourne. The role requires travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, with a focus on survivability design, testing, and integration.

Responsibilities include coordinating with design and supportability teams, developing advanced survivable technology, and delivering test reports. A clear pathway to SAP clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Education in STEM with 5+ years of related engineering experience for LV3; or 3 years with Master’s; or 1 year with PhD.
• LV4 requires 8 years with Bachelor’s, 6 years with Master’s, or 4 years with PhD.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with designers and engineers to ensure Survivability requirements are met.
• Develop and integrate technology to reduce system detectability.
• Design, plan, and execute RCS/RF tests and deliver reports.
• Analyze test results and advise on materials and survivability performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers on requirements, SOWs, testing and delivery.
