Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Principal Engineer to lead complex UxS integration and test activities on the Rapid Integration & Test team. Expect hands‑on work from fixtures and avionics wiring to sensor payloads, with clear ownership of technical direction.

You will guide cross‑functional effort, mentor engineers, and ensure safety and regulatory alignment while delivering on larger, more capable platforms. 15+ years’ experience and UAS mastery are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant experience; recognized as a seasoned expert.
• Hands‑on UxS engineering — build, integration, and modification beyond integration‑to‑running.
• Experience taking complex hardware/software systems from concept through flight test.
• In‑depth knowledge of Pixhawk autopilot systems and the ArduPilot stack.
• Hands‑on experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, laser cutting, and composite materials.
• Practical experience with small UAS/drones; understanding of NAS and UAS regulations.
• Ability to set technical direction and mentor a team on complex platform work.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently and with teams.
• Willingness to travel and eligibility to obtain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex integration and instrumentation efforts on large test assets.
• Perform hands‑on build, integration, instrumentation, and modification work.
• Own the technical approach for the team's most complex integration projects.
• Serve as a recognized technical authority across programs and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Set technical direction and mentor the team on larger platforms.
• Develop and execute streamlined test plans with safety compliance.
• Navigate safety and regulatory requirements while advancing programs.
• Participate in weekly stand‑ups and provide SITREPs to leadership.
