Job summary

AstraZeneca Frederick Manufacturing Center seeks a Principal Engineer for HVAC, clean utilities, and process engineering to lead technical strategy and execution across site-wide capital projects. You will ensure safe, compliant biologics manufacturing operations, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement in utilities, environmental control, and manufacturing systems.

The role requires extensive experience with GMP HVAC, clean utility design, and bioprocess equipment, and offers

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related)
10+ years in industrial control systems, commissioning, and support
Subject-matter expertise in GMP HVAC, clean utilities, and bioprocess manufacturing

Responsibilities

Serve as site-wide technical expert for GMP HVAC, clean utilities, and process systems across buildings and infrastructure.
Lead or advise on large capital projects from concept to commissioning and operational readiness.
Own quality records and support risk management, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Coach engineers, technicians, and contractors; drive continuous improvement and best practices.
Develop tools, standards, and training materials for engineering teams.
Support SHE teams and participate in audits and incident investigations.
