Job summary

IRALOGIX is seeking a Principal Engineer in Charlotte, NC or Pittsburgh, PA to scale our core platform. This hands-on leader will own distributed systems architecture, drive throughput and observability, and mentor teams. 12+ years in software and strong FinTech experience preferred.

The role requires full-time, on-site work with 0–25% travel, and US work authorization. You will write code on hard problems while setting engineering standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep production experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with ANSI SQL and PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
• Demonstrated experience designing and scaling distributed systems, including event-driven, straight-through, and batch processing.
• Ability to leverage the full capabilities of modern observability tooling (metrics, tracing, logging, and alerting).
• AWS experience with ECS, RDS, S3, IAM and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to move fluidly between high-level architecture discussions and detailed code.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and operate core platform services that process retirement transactions at scale.
• Drive step-change improvements in throughput, resiliency, and performance across the stack.
• Build observability with dashboards, monitoring, and alerting for precise processing.
• Arbitrate architectural decisions in collaboration with architecture teams while balancing best practices and stakeholder needs.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality code adhering to SDLC, standards, and automated quality gates with improved test coverage.
• Debug and resolve production issues across services and stack levels.
• Mentor the next generation of technical leaders at IRALOGIX.
