Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to drive the architecture and execution of its AI Security and Delivery Platform.

You will design high-performance control and data planes, safeguarding and delivering AI workloads across hybrid cloud environments. You will lead core systems engineering with Go, C, and Rust, and collaborate with product management and leadership to translate complex requirements into robust technical plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering with architectural leadership in enterprise networking, cloud security, API/gateway infrastructure, or application delivery platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Go, C, and Rust for high-performance system-level and network software development.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, custom controllers, container networking, and multi-cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define the overall architectural vision and long-term technical roadmap for AI security, application delivery, intelligent traffic routing, and control plane technologies.
• Architect and lead high-throughput, low-latency data plane and distributed control plane systems using Go, C, and Rust.
• Deeply integrate platform with the AI software development lifecycle, including runtime protection, prompt/response scanning, model serving delivery, vector stores, and orchestration frameworks.
• Lead multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud designs utilizing Kubernetes CRDs, ingress/gateway controllers, service meshes, and cloud-native networking across public and private clouds.
• Partner with leadership, product management, and engineering to translate business requirements into robust specs and execution plans.
