Job summary

F5 is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for the AI Security and Delivery Platform, spanning multi-cloud and Kubernetes-native deployments. You will own end-to-end component design, data plane efficiency, and secure AI traffic controls.

Bring strong coding skills in Go, C, and Rust, design resilient systems, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with product teams to refine specs and deliver robust platform releases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience building high-performance networking, API gateway, or cloud security infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on programming skills in Go, C, or Rust.
• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes internals, container orchestration, and multi-cloud networking primitives.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and deploy resilient, scalable features for enterprise AI control planes and data planes using Go, C, and Rust.
• Implement advanced security controls, semantic policy enforcement, rate limiting, and observability for high-throughput AI workloads.
• Build Kubernetes-native operators and CRDs bridging multi-cloud and on-prem environments.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, conduct architectural reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product management to refine technical specifications and deliver robust platform releases.
