Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the design and implementation of low-latency, multi-tenant SaaS services within the AI Security team.

You will architect scalable APIs, optimize forward and reverse proxies, and build observability into distributed systems. You will drive AI-assisted development, mentor engineers, and steer architectural decisions while embracing collaboration and innovative technologies for secure, high-performance software

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Go developer with experience in low-latency, multi-tenant B2B SaaS architectures.
• Experience developing forward and reverse proxies and high-performance services.
• Experience with Python and/or TypeScript in production environments.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) including embeddings, RAG, and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of robust low-latency services and APIs for scalable multi-tenant architectures.
• Build and refine forward and reverse proxies for client security and performance.
• Implement observability tools to provide monitoring and alerting across services.
• Leverage AI development tools and agentic frameworks to accelerate coding and testing while maintaining standards.
• Guide and mentor junior developers and drive architectural decisions with collaboration.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance system architectures and development practices.
