Job summary

Toyota Deutschland GmbH is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the technical strategy for Supply Chain transformation initiatives. You will drive architecture across fusion teams, shaping roadmaps and delivering scalable, secure solutions.

Lead senior engineers and managers, champion modern practices, and apply AI-enabled capabilities to accelerate delivery and quality. This role reports to senior leadership and requires strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and delivering complex enterprise software solutions.
• 5+ years of cloud-native architecture on AWS and scalable platform design.
• 5+ years delivering modern software using React, Node.js, PostgreSQL/MongoDB, REST APIs, Docker, Terraform, and Serverless.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Experience leading multiple teams and AI-enabled delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision for large-scale supply chain platforms.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across products and teams.
• Provide senior technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and engineering managers to elevate excellence.
• Directly lead multiple development teams when needed and set delivery rhythms.
• Drive agile practices, effective dependency management, and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, operations, architecture, and platform partners on roadmaps.
• Champion modern engineering practices—cloud-native, DevSecOps, observability.
• Identify cross-team dependencies and drive alignment with stakeholders.
• Provide senior leadership with visibility into direction, risks, and tradeoffs.
• Set standards for AI-assisted engineering with clear review and security.
• Stay close to operations and ensure architecture reflects how work runs.
