Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer for its Software Department in Atlanta, GA. The role involves cross-disciplinary teams, architecture and design, and testing of EW programs. Applicants should have a STEM degree and 10+ years’ experience with C/C++, embedded platforms, and software lifecycle expertise.

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance are required. On-site work in Atlanta, GA is expected, with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C / C++.
• Experience with embedded microprocessor design, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, flash memories, block diagrams, signal analyses and signal generation.
• Experience in all software lifecycle phases: software architecture, system/software requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification testing, system integration, and post-delivery maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-disciplined integrated product teams to plan, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
• Innovate with new products and technologies from architecture to field test.
• Collaborate with disciplines and senior staff to produce planning and technical work products.
• Develop software requirements from system level requirements and perform simulations and testing in a lab.
• Work in an advanced product development team with systems, firmware, electrical and software engineers.
