Job summary

RIM Recruitment Professionals is seeking a Sr. Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of large industrial process facilities in Moses Lake, WA.

You will oversee FEL stages, deliver electrical packages, and guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through startup. The role requires 20+ years in electrical engineering for industrial plants, expertise in substations, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, and strong standards knowledge; you'll collaborate with EPC firms and owners to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
• 20+ years designing electrical infrastructure for large industrial facilities.
• Experience with substations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, relays, UPS, VFDs, and EHT.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities from FEL through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and operations.
• Develop and review electrical deliverables (one-lines, equipment specs, packages, MTOs, documentation).
• Provide technical leadership for power distribution, substations, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash, and harmonic studies.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, procurement, and project teams.
• Manage interfaces with EPC firms, equipment vendors, and consultants.
• Review FAT/SAT, commissioning plans, startup procedures, and construction activities.
• Develop standards and specifications to improve reliability, safety, and operability.
