Job summary

Air Products is seeking Principal and Senior Principal Electrical Engineers to lead the electrical scope on a range of proposals and projects across the Americas. You will mentor junior team members and collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

Domestic travel is expected to support sites and projects. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, PE status (or pursuing), and strong experience with large motors, switchgear, transformers, power

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required; PE status or active pursuit.
• Experience in electrical power engineering within process design.
• Experience with large motors (1–10MW); larger motors a plus.
• Experience with low/medium/high voltage switchgear, transformers and power electronics.
• Proficient with power-system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver with quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope of work on proposals and projects in the Americas region.
• Assign tasks to electrical design teams and provide supervision/technical guidance.
• Contribute to development of Air Products' electrical design standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and outsourcing partners to add value to projects.
• Define execution models for electrical engineering and monitor performance.

Experience with larger motors (10MW up) will be a plus.* Experience in specification and procurement of low, medium and high voltage switchgear, power transformers and power electronics (LCI's, VSD's and Thyristor Controllers).* An ability to work with software packages for analysis of power systems (e.g. SKM Powertools or ETAP).* A dedicated and driven approach & be committed to getting it right with a never-ending desire to learn, improve and contribute.* Experience leading cross functional teams.
