Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to automate provisioning and management across VMware and physical environments in Roy, Utah. You will drive IaC, patching, and security hardening across Linux and Windows, with Horizon VDI and IIS administration, while maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with teams to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructures, leveraging Kubernetes, Terraform, VMware, and PostgreSQL expertise in a DoD-cleared environment.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
• 4+ years with Microsoft/Linux Red Hat OS
• 4+ years scripting (Python, Bash, YAML, PERL)
• 2+ years with IIS and PostgreSQL administration
• 2+ years Jira/Confluence in Agile
• IAT Level II or ability to obtain within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Design infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Develop automation scripts, workflows and playbooks
• Maintain patching, compliance and reporting frameworks
• Administer RHEL and Windows Server environments
• Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure (ESXi, clusters)
• Provision and manage VDI with Horizon
• Administer and automate IIS web servers
• Support PostgreSQL databases (backup/restore)
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues
• Collaborate to identify automation opportunities
• Document configurations and processes
• Promote unified automation solutions
• Communicate progress to stakeholders
