Job summary

Lilly is seeking an experienced automation engineer for its Medicine Foundry operations in the United States. The role focuses on maintaining compliant control systems, leading technical work, and ensuring reliable automation across manufacturing lines.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in biopharma automation, system integration across DCS/SCADA and LIMS, and hands-on commissioning support for analytical equipment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or Science with 8+ years in biopharma manufacturing.
• Automation engineering experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with lab/analytical systems.
• Commissioning/qualifying/ supporting analytical and automation equipment.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide automation engineering support for operating areas and capital projects.
• Ensure reliable, compliant control applications and mentor the team.
• Influence process control agenda, priorities and compliance objectives.
• Lead design reviews, FATs, and software development for DCS applications.
• Own site-wide administration for Laboratory/Analytical equipment and data systems.
• Partner on Empower, LIMS, MES, and ELN integration touchpoints.
• Lead automation/analytical systems engineers and commissioning support.
• Develop automation project plans and report progress to management.
• Create functional requirements and tune control loops; validate testing.
