Job summary

Palo Alto Networks' Chronosphere team is seeking a software engineer to drive the implementation of Control features in a modern observability platform. You will shape telemetry traffic, manage high-cardinality data, and enforce usage policies at scale.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to build intuitive capabilities, optimize costs, and ensure reliability for customers processing hundreds of millions of telemetry events per second.

Qualifications

• Experience building high-quality, scalable systems in production.
• Fluency in a systems language (Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust).
• Ability to own projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test enhancements to Control APIs and services.
• Build telemetry shaping and cost-control systems.
• Partner with Product and Design to deliver customer-facing experiences.
• Own operational quality: instrumentation, alerting, debugging, incident response.
• Collaborate across product, design, platform, infrastructure, and developer experience teams.
