Job summary

Stellarus is seeking a Senior Principal, Application Architecture to shape reusable services and vendor integrations, turning platform strategy into systems engineers can build, test, deploy, and operate.

This is the senior IC architecture role, serving as the technical authority across the platform with a focus on code, system design, and production tradeoffs, while collaborating with security, product, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4 years of related experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering or architecture experience.
• Expert knowledge of microservices, API ecosystems, and event-driven systems.
• Experience cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP transferable).
• Strong hands-on engineering background and code-level discussion.
• Experience designing and operating microservices in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript, Node.js, APIs, React, containers, CI/CD, and automation.
• Experience with domain-driven design and integration architecture.
• Practical experience with build-versus-buy decisions and vendor integration.
• Strong API and data architecture judgment including REST and OpenAPI.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise architecture direction for distributed systems.
• Shape reusable services and marketplace capabilities.
• Lead technical decisions across engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations.
• Collaborate with vendors and integrate vendor systems.
• Guide AI-assisted development patterns and production tradeoffs.
