Job summary

HERE Technologies is seeking a Senior Principal AI Scientist to lead the development of map-grounded world foundation models for synthetic driving scenarios. You will drive collaboration across ML, perception, planning, and simulation teams to deliver measurable improvements in autonomous driving applications.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS/AI/Robotics or related field.
• 10+ years in ML, autonomous systems, simulation or robotics.
• Deep expertise in generative AI (diffusion, video, transformers).
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch, scalable ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and development of map-grounded world foundation models for realistic driving scenarios.
• Train, fine-tune and deploy diffusion models, transformer world models, and generative video architectures.
• Drive proof-of-concept initiatives with technology partners; translate outcomes to business roadmaps.
• Bridge generative AI workflows with AV simulation platforms (CARLA, NVIDIA Drive Sim).
• Define quality frameworks to evaluate synthetic data utility and model performance.
• Collaborate across ML, perception, planning, simulation and product teams for measurable improvements.
• Advise engineering and business leaders on opportunities and roadmaps.
