Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Senior Principal AI Agent Engineer in Austin, Texas to shape the next generation of AI-enabled engineering workflows. You will design scalable, production-ready AI solutions, focusing on LLM reasoning, tool use, and autonomous tasks for software development.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience and hands-on experience building LLM-powered systems, production AI agents, or autonomous workflows.
Strong programming skills in Python, automation tooling, and Kubernetes.
Experience with orchestration frameworks, tool calling, RAG, or evaluation frameworks.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to adapt in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

Design and build AI-driven engineering workflows using LLMs and autonomous agents
Steer and validate AI coding agents to improve engineering throughput and code quality
Develop testing, evaluation, and guardrail frameworks for AI-generated output
Optimize context management using embeddings, retrieval, and memory strategies
Partner with teams to deliver scalable, secure, cloud-native AI solutions
