RTX in the United States seeks a Senior Principal Engineer – Project Engineering to lead medium-to-large aerospace programs from initiation to delivery. You will drive schedules, budgets, hardware development, and test activities while aligning teams to program objectives and customer requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, EVMS/IMS experience, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Eligible for security clearance; hybrid work in Rockford, IL with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with minimum 7 years.

Responsabilités

• Lead complex, multi-year engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with program objectives, contractual requirements, schedules, budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Establish integrated project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, leveraging EVMS data to assess progress and drive decisions.
• Align engineering, project management, planning, production, and leadership teams to support program execution.
• Identify program risks and lead mitigation strategies to protect cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
• Drive cost efficiency, resource optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee hardware development, configuration control, documentation, and design release activities.
• Oversee engineering test activities, including planning, procedure development, results analysis, and verification.
• Lead program reviews and communicate status, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Support new business pursuits with project planning, technical execution strategies, and budgeting.
• Present program status and strategic recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
