Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems – Research & Advanced Design (R&AD) in Redondo Beach seeks a senior engineer to lead design synthesis and analysis of advanced air vehicles and to interface with external customers on mission-critical programs. Candidates should have a STEM degree with 6+ years (or PhD with 4+) and strong Python/Matlab/C/C++/Linux skills.

The role requires travel up to 10% and a Secret clearance to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years related engineering experience; or a Master’s with 6+; or PhD with 4+.
• Understanding of aircraft performance analysis and sizing.
• 6+ years in Python, MATLAB, C++, Fortran, or Linux.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-3013B.
• Ability to travel ~10%.

Responsabilités

• Conduct preliminary design synthesis and analysis of advanced manned and unmanned air vehicles.
• Develop technical solutions to difficult problems and document results.
• Interact with and brief external customers.
• Support vehicle performance and sizing analysis for government programs.
• Provide analysis and guide design teams to meet program goals; support proposals.
