Job summary

Ares Management Corporation in New York seeks a strategic, hands-on Principal of Pricing to lead enterprise pricing and valuation-control. You will set the vision and operating model for pricing, build scalable tooling, strengthen SOX and governance, and partner across Operations, Portfolio Management, Technology and Audit.

The role combines leadership of pricing policy with vendor management, data stewardship and platform build-out to scale the pricing function with growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in investment management, valuation, pricing, or related fields.
• Experience with pricing controls, valuation governance, and SOX/testing.
• Strong fixed-income and credit product knowledge; experience with complex instruments.
• Experience building or enhancing pricing tools and workflows with Technology.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and market-data pricing vendors.
• Strong external orientation and benchmarking capabilities.
• Experience with acquisitions or platform transformations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own daily pricing across loans, bonds, equities, derivatives, and private securities.
• Source data from vendors and internal uploads; review variances and pricing history.
• Lead vendor relationships; monitor service quality and pricing methodology.
• Develop pricing rules hierarchy and governance; implement new pricing functionality.
• Partner with PMs and investment teams to deliver timely valuation information.
• Lead platform build-out including workflows and dashboards.
