Job summary

Austal USA in Mobile, AL is looking for a Preventive Maintenance Supervisor to lead shipboard maintenance programs and ensure readiness of propulsion diesels, pumps and deck equipment. You will guide Level I/II technicians, coordinate PM checks, and ensure adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and Navy/OSHA procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ maintenance/safety/mechanical/operational/install experience in a shipyard or marine environment.
• Maintenance training equivalent to two years technical trade school or military technical school.
• Knowledge of OSHA Lockout/Tagout requirements and US Navy Work Authorization Form procedures.
• Ability to read ship construction drawings and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance according to a schedule of planned maintenance actions.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, notes, production prints and layouts.
• Establish a maintenance schedule and plan/perform PM checks IAW the schedule.
• Record equipment conditions and keep logs of deterioration and corrosion.
• Follow established procedures to schedule, plan, and perform PM functions.
• Ensure systems readiness for activation.
• Mentor junior staff, promoting development and knowledge sharing.
