Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design, development, qualification, and lifecycle support of advanced pressure sensing products across Industrial Automation, Oil & Gas, Process Control, and Aerospace & Defense.

The role emphasizes precision mechanical design, pressure sensor packaging, high reliability practices, and collaboration with electrical, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and test engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience in sensors, instrumentation, or electromechanical products.
• Experience with NPI, sustaining engineering, and product modifications.
• Proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of pressure sensors and transmitters from concept to production.
• Develop mechanical designs that meet performance, cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Perform design analyses and support FEA-based optimization.
• Manage product enhancements, design changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead testing, validation, and certification activities.
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reliability improvements.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to support production and product performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members.
