Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Illinois is seeking a 2nd Shift press operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multiple press machines. You will perform make-ready tasks, install plates or cylinders, and ensure correct image positioning to meet quality standards.

The role requires knowledge of offset printing, precise settings, and routine maintenance. You will color-correct and adjust presses, perform minor repairs, and participate in scheduled upkeep.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine the most appropriate press usage and materials needed.
• Skill to make precise settings of controls and perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Experience with routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of packing pressure needed to obtain proper printing pressure for the job.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders and check image positioning.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
