Lake Superior YMCA in Hermantown, MN seeks a dedicated Teacher to lead and implement high-quality early childhood education in our YMCA service area. You will supervise Assistant Teachers and Aides while delivering engaging, standards-aligned lessons in a safe, nurturing environment.

You will collaborate with staff and families, maintain records, and ensure compliance with licensure requirements. This full-time role offers a quarterly retention bonus and a supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Leads and supervise Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides.
• Develops and maintains a constructive rapport with children and parents.
• Creates activities that are fun and educational for the children.
• Develops and implements daily lesson plans for children.
• Collaborates with Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Aides to ensure inviting and nurturing environment.
• Delivers reports on potential concerns about students to management as needed.
• Manages day-to-day classroom activities including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch, and rest times.
• Leads parental and guardian conferences on a regular basis.
• Helps feed children; prepares meals and snacks.
• Completes reports in cases of suspected maltreatment or abuse to authorities.
• Assists students in emergencies and drills.
• Observes and evaluates children’s performance, behavior, social development, and health.
